Remember Keiko, the captive whale who became famous from the “Free Willy” films?

Rescued from an entertainment park in Mexico, Keiko was returned to his native waters of Iceland in 1998. And two members of the Whale Sanctuary Project were key members of Keiko’s team: Jeff Foster, who was the Director of Field Operations and Research, and Charles Vinick, who served as Project Director in Iceland.

Charles and Jeff will be joining us for a fascinating conversation about what it was like returning the famous whale to his natural habitat, and how that amazing experience informs their work for the Whale Sanctuary Project.
